Despite embarking on their first-ever European campaign, Crystal Palace are learning at a rapid pace. Without key players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a comfortable result that all but guarantees them a spot in the Conference League playoffs.
A further victory in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS ought to be sufficient to secure straight entry to the last 16, particularly following a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Opportunity
This match offered a platform for some of Palace's fringe players to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning after joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, finding the net for the second game in match.
A Shelbourne team that had concluded their domestic season were outmatched against a largely rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were further weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee injuries.

The home side were hanging on for dear life. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to avoid a booking for two agricultural tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the woodwork with a header from a corner.

The match was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw key players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, only to see his shot blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, showing there is still scope for improvement in his game.
The only worry for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect night for the visiting side.
